PVDF Monofilament Yarn
Polyvinylidene fluoride, commonly known as PVDF, is a type of thermoplastic fluoropolymer that has excellent chemical resistance, weather resistance, and ultraviolet radiation resistance. It can be produced through the polymerization of vinylidene fluoride and is soluble in strong polar solvents like dimethylacetamide. PVDF is often used as engineering plastics, for making equipment that requires corrosion-resistant sealing rings and capacitors. It is also used as insulating materials, coatings, and ion exchange membrane materials. Additionally, it has outstanding anti-aging and other properties that make it a versatile material for various applications.

Application
PVDF membranes are widely used in the biomedical field for immunoblotting, where proteins are electrophoresed. The advantage of using PVDF is that it is solvent-resistant, which makes it easy to peel off the films used in the assay and reuse them to detect other proteins.
PVDF membranes can also be used to make syringe or wheel membrane filtration devices. They are ideal for filtration because they are heat and chemical resistant, and have low protein binding properties. This makes them suitable for use as a sterile filter in the preparation of pharmaceuticals and sample preparation for HPLC analysis. They prevent equipment damage caused by the presence of small amounts of particulate matter in the samples.
In addition, PVDF can be used to manufacture professional monofilament fishing lines as an alternative to traditional nylon monofilament. PVDF fishing lines have a hard surface that is more resistant to abrasion by sharp fish teeth. Their optical density is lower than nylon, making them less visible to a keen fish eye. At the same time, their density is greater than nylon, which allows the fishing line to sink towards the fish more quickly.
